2010 Western Championships Hinton, Alberta
February 19-21

Myself and the Augustana Biathlon team arrived in Hinton, Alberta last night to get in a solid day of training prior to the start of the 2010 Western Championships. This race is going to be the final test before the National Chmapionships which are coming up quickly. The Hinton trail system is a challenging one consisting of one rather large and LONG uphill section. For myself though hills have always been a strength.

Training since Christmas has been going really well in preparation for this race and National Championships so I am really looking forward to this race as a test of the conditioning and shooting procedures that I have been drilling into my muscle memory.

I would like to thank Fresh Air for all their support this season. The Leki poles have made my poling more efficient and much quicker in my shooting procedure with easy clip in clip out grips. Also on my trip to Ottawa I was educted in the helpfulness of conpression tights and socks which I have found to inmprove my recovery post exercise and post race. Your valuable knowledge and support has helped me better my training and racing.

This weekend race will consist of a 15km individual race with four shooting bouts on Saturday and a sprint race with two shooting bouts on Sunday. I will post results as soon as possible.
